Morelli Group Directors Ruth Moring-Beale, Mark Moring and Andrew Moring were present at the prestigious awards dinner to collect their certificate for finishing in 80th place on the table for 2012 with a 60% growth on the previous year’s total. Ruth says, “It is a great honour to be recognised for our achievements in what is a challenging market for our product ranges. We have worked hard to identify products suitable for export and are delighted to be recognised with this award.”

The International Track 200 league table ranks Britain’s private companies with the fastest-growing overseas sales and is published in The Sunday Times. The 200 companies increased their international sales over their latest two years by an average of 44% a year to a total of £8.2bn.

The 210 guests included founders and senior directors from well-known names such as Cath Kidston, Skyscanner, Joseph Joseph, Merlin Entertainments and Markit.

They were welcomed by Dan Howlett, head of corporate banking in the UK at HSBC, who said these awards had “genuine purpose and intrinsic merit” as they championed Britain’s private companies that are capitalising on growing international markets.

Each of the international sales stars on the league table was given a certificate. There were also four special awards, ranging from best brand to excellence in emerging markets.

Guest speakers included Daragh Maher, one of HSBC’s senior currency strategists, Kenny Wilson, chief executive of Cath Kidston and Mark Dixon, founder and chief executive of serviced office provider Regus.

The International Track 200 award for the fastest-growing company, also sponsored by HSBC, was presented by Jacques-Emmanuel Blanchet, deputy head of commercial banking Europe and head of commercial banking UK, to Mark Group. This energy-efficiency specialist insulates more than 7,000 homes and businesses every week across the UK, America, Australia and New Zealand. International sales grew by an average of 513% a year to £27.2m in 2012.
